Hand-stitched embroidery of a Norse shield-maiden warrior. What makes this piece of embroidery stand out is the free-flowing hair, complete with braids. The top of the hair has been stitched to resemble braids close to the head, the rest of the hair flows freely and is finished with two long braids. This is my interpretation of Lagertha, the legendary shield maiden of Norse mythology.

Stitched on ice-blue cashel linen fabric using only shades of grey, off-shite and silver.

Framed and ready to hang. Visible embroidery measures 11.5 cm diameter.
